Terms and Conditions for Plumbing Services (Estimate)

By accepting this estimate, you (the "Client") agree to the following terms and conditions provided by T Woods Heating & Plumbing (the "Company"):

 

1. Estimate Validity

This estimate is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After this period, the Company reserves the right to revise the estimate.

 

2. Scope of Work

This estimate covers only the labor and materials explicitly described herein. Any additional work requested by the Client that isn't detailed in this estimate will be subject to a separate agreement and may incur additional charges.

 

3. Pricing

The price quoted is an estimate and may be subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise, such as hidden pipe damage, inaccessible areas, or significant changes in material costs. We'll always do our best to inform you of any such changes and get your approval before moving forward.

 

4. Payment Terms

a. For work under £1000, full payment is due upon completion of the work. b. For work exceeding £1000, a 50% deposit may be required before work commences, with the remaining balance due upon completion. c. Payment can be made by bank transfer. Details will be provided on the final invoice. d. Invoices not paid within 7 days of the invoice date may be subject to a late payment fee of 8% over the Bank of England base rate and compensation for debt recovery costs under the Late Payment legislation.

5. Client Responsibilities

a. You are responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the work area. b. You are responsible for protecting your property (e.g., furniture, flooring) from dust, debris, and potential water damage during the work. While we'll take reasonable precautions, we can't be held responsible for damage to unprotected items. c. You must inform us of any known hazards, hidden pipes, or previous repairs that may affect the work.

 

6. Guarantees and Warranties

a. We guarantee our workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, provided the plumbing system has been used and maintained correctly. This guarantee doesn't cover fair wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or repairs undertaken by third parties. b. Manufacturer warranties apply to all materials and appliances supplied and installed by us. We'll assist you in making a claim under a manufacturer's warranty where appropriate.

 

7. Liability

a. We'll exercise reasonable care and skill in performing the services. b. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the services provided, including but not limited to loss of profit, business interruption, or damage to property not directly related to the plumbing work. c. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall not exceed the total value of the services provided under this estimate.

 

8. Cancellation Policy

a. If you wish to cancel scheduled work, you must provide 24 hours notice. b. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee of £85 to cover administrative costs and lost earnings.

 

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter amicably through negotiation. If a resolution can't be reached, alternative dispute resolution methods may be considered.

 

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
